Hybrid Solar Powered APU System for the Trucking Industry

With new laws and regulatTrucking cooling heating systemions effecting the idle time for truck drivers and trucking companies alike, staying comfortable in the truck cab is becoming more difficult than ever.  By not allowing truckers to idle their trucks, they are expected to sweat it out in the summer heat or just “chill out” during the winter months.  Another aspect which shows the total disregard for our professional truck drivers, not to mention a safety issue.  Yes, this is a safety issue.

Truck owner operators, fleet owners and especially the trucking companies themselves, now have a solution.  A solution that can save them up to $23,000 per year in fuel costs … per truck!  Not hard to figure out is it?   Two thousand trucks, $23,000 each, that’s a savings of $46,000,000 per year from lost fuel idling.  Even with only 250 trucks, they would be looking at saving $5,750,000 per year.

There is an APU system available that will do just that.  The Kool Rig System is the world’s first Hybrid solar powered heating and air conditioning  unit built for semi trucks.  With the Kool Rig system, truckers can now turn off their trucks, saving thousands of dollars of fuel per year, while at the same time having the in-cab comfort that is needed for the proper rest, not to mention not having to worry about breaking local idling laws.

Owner operators, fleet owners and all trucking companies should seriously consider this revolutionary system.  It’s all about saving money, protecting the environment and reaping a higher gross profit, isn’t it?   Learn more about the Kool Rig System.  This could literally change the future of trucking.

Funny how when fuel prices were high everyone was in a state of ‘inventiveness’ and now that we’re seeing lows again Hybrid mechanics have once again been pushed to the back of the room (seems to be the topic of the morning for me). Thanks for the heads up on this because I wasn’t even aware of it – manu’d in the US? Even better for our turbulent economy. My hats off to this guy and thanks again for posting this. Necessity truly is the mother of invention. Take care out there everyone.

Hi Paul: I recently spoke with Joel Harvey, the founder of this APU and we discussed the high/low fuel situation also … He will be a guest on our BTR show on 4-21-09 …. looking forward to that … I believe he’s got a great thing here and “Made in the USA” is even better! Thanks….Allen

I can’t wait to hear more about Joel’s Solar APU, I was suprised by people so critical of this innovative No-Idle Unit that could potentially turn Truck Emissions way down & save Truckers money.
If you are on Twitter you can find Joel as @KoolRigAPU
And for the Naysayers, remember, no one ever thought the Gaslamp Streetlight could ever be replaced either.
You can try to resist technology but it won’t un-invent itself.

There will always be the “doom and gloomers” no matter what great inventions lie ahead. Joel is the one who got this started and at present, is the only one utilizing this new technology in the world. I have a feeling this Solar APU system will really take off in the next few years or so …. The amount of money that can be saved by O/O drivers and trucking companies alike … makes it a “no brainer.”
