Non-Endangered Fish is More Important than California Farmers

Delta Smelt FishWater restrictions that were imposed by our Federal Government in order to protect a little fish called the Delta Smelt,  is putting California farmers out of business.  You’ve heard about this, right?  The Delta Smelt is a little fish that lives abundantly in Asia.   The tiny creature found its way over to America and landed in Southern California.  The smelt’s habitat is the source of water pumped to 25 million people in Southern California and the Bay Area.  The Department of Water Services has shut down pumping from the delta during the smelt’s most vulnerable times.  This in turn, has left the farmers with no water to irrigate their fields, thus causing our American Farmers to lose their crops and to help raise the unemployment rate in the area to a whopping forty percent!

The fish has been placed on the endangered species list, but what is not being reported is that the fish thrives in Asia.  We want to report that the Delta Smelt is not an endangered species, but it is more important than our own farmers.   Our Government is allowing these California Farmers to lose their fields, their employees, their jobs and their very livelihood, all for the sake of a 2-3 inch long fish that is native to Asia.

The situation is so bad, that a convoy of 18-wheelers are being put together in order to bring trailer loads of food to the farmers and those within the area facing the high loss of jobs and income.  The trailer loads will be delivered to a food bank along the Central Valley of California and is being spearheaded by theamericandriver.com and we have joined the cause to help these farmers and those in need.

We are asking for any Florida business to help with this very important cause that is virtually going unreported within the media.  We are needing a trailer load donation of food that will be picked up by a driver and delivered, along with as many as 300 trucks in the convoy, to Southern California currently scheduled for the end of September, ‘09.

Governor Schwarzenegger and comedian Paul Rodriguez are involved with the cause as well.   For donating, your business will be recognized for assisting in the food drive by having the business name shown on the outside of the rig.   We are looking for a trailer load donation of whatever you can give:

  • Meat
  • Eggs
  • Fruit
  • Vegetables

California farmers and thousands of workers are out of work, have lost their fields, their crops and are literally facing a hunger crisis . . . right here in America.  Why?  Because the Government and organizations such as PETA believe that this little Asian fish is more important to save than our American farmer and their workers.   Main media outlets are keeping quiet, but we’ve been notified of the situation and are working to establish a trailer load donation from out of the state of Florida. If you are a Florida business and would like to donate a trailer load for this cause, please contact me at : allen@truthabouttrucking.com

The driver and 18-wheeler will be provided and I will contact you to make the pick up.  This is a very serious situation in Southern California effecting our farmers and thousands of others.  They need food . . . they need your help.

To donate, please contact me ASAP so we can arrange the pick up for the convoy that will be heading to California to feed our farmers.

Thanks,

Allen Smith

**  RECENT SHOW:  Truth About Trucking “LIVE” – Blog Talk Radio’s premier trucking talk radio show discussed the California farming crisis that is not being reported by the main stream media.  This Government-made drought has destroyed acres of farm land for our California farmers and have placed the Delta Smelt fish more important than our own citizens.    SPECIAL BROADCAST :

I hate to say this LOL no I don’t but that little fish looks like something I have used for fish bait here in KY. I’m not joking either. It would almost be worth going and getting some to compare them.

Thanks! We need to get the “water turned back on” for the farmers. but until then, we need to at least get some relief out to California.
We spoke to JB today and he’s hitting a few bureaucratic obstacles for the convoy ( Imagine that)
We’ve got the trucks, man power, and donations, but we’re trying to give back THE RED TAPE!
We’re also trying to get a hold of Governor Schwarzenegger’s office, who is obviously supporting this cause, and see if they can help us to help the people in his state.
We’re inviting him to be on the Blog Talk Radio Show on Wednesday at 7pm.

Give JB a call if you’d like to get involved or you can email him: theAmericanDriver@yahoo.com

Also, Fred Schaffner is working hard ( as he always does) and we expect him to be on the BTR show also.
