Thanks for the comments . . . I see some positive changes coming into the trucking industry, but still a lot of work to do....many students still being taken for money and even after several months of training completion, still no job . . . much has to do with the economy right now, but some of these schools need to STOP taking their $$$ when they know a driving job is very difficult to land for a newcomer right now, in many cases ......

Allen,

Thank you for this excellent article, which truly reflects the true nature of the brotherhood of truckers (or sisterhood as the case may be.)

There is a re-connection occuring among truckers, and through honest and respectful communications...we may one day see the greatness of this brotherhood return...and right the wrongs being inflicted upon our brother and sister truckers.

Safe Trails and God Bless,
Frederick (SilverSurfer) Schaffner

It's good to listen to our shows and read the blogs, articles, etc., but without taking "action" very little will ever get accomplished. I have found it interesting that when there are supposed to be organizations out there "speaking up" for the drivers, that so many truckers are finding it necessary to create resources representing themselves. ??

During this experience I have been touched by how many non-truckers have reached out to help raise awareness of what is happening to the American Trucker by supporting efforts and becoming more knowledgable on this topic.

Seems like everyone has a trucker in their life at somepoint. A Grandfather, Father, Mother, Husband,Brother Friend.

Everyone can participate by educating themselves on key topics and flooding legislators with calls and email to demand action.

Many of these issues are indeed 20, 30 years in the making but we did not have wireless communications then either.

I have been able to reach people all over the world with my writing from my phone for the past 8 months so I know if we all zero in on a target we can tackle this overgrown beast of government red tape.

Follow the money trail to the top and demand answers or for the job back, these public servants need to be reminded who they work for and everyone can help remind them.

Participating in forums only to complain about government will not change anything. Spend that time demanding accountability and help others who might need assistance drafting a letter or email with clear directions and contact information.

Making it easy for us to get involved and take the truth to the court of public opinion so the whole world can see.

Government is counting on us to slug it out amongst ourselves by splitting hairs over what we can't agree on while they make backroom deals.

The WILL make the deals with or without our input.
More likely without if we are still bickering in a forum somewhere.

Allen & Donna spend a great deal of personal time & money bringing us the truth to help us.

By pulling our resources we can all help make our voice heard by getting involved.

At the end of the day I ask myself:
"Is it more important that this task is complete OR that I got credit for it?"

It's irritating for sure when the people who have the least are working the hardest having their work scooped and taken credit for somewhere else.

It's a real slap in the face to those who are barely making ends meet to keep there websites up and keep their heads above water financially.

I am proud to part of this group of rag-tag patriots who are committed to challenging the status-quo.

I know how much personal time & effort it takes.

Just think how effective we could be if everyone was focused together at once.

We can always use help so please if you have some time, anyone, everyone ... get out of the sandbox, quit squabbling and contact any of us or any contact links to get involved with a project.

"Jason's Law" , the Virginia issue , whatever fires you up and get involved.
